Elaine Pace is a writing coach and the author of two recent non-fiction works: Island Home -- Why People Come to Martha's Vineyard and Why They Stay (1st World Publishing, 2008) and Island, a Memoir (1st World Publishing, 2005).  Her work has also been included in Martha's Vineyard Writing (2007) and in professional publications.

Before 2004, she served as a superintendent of schools, an assistant superintendent, a principal, a director of staff development, and a teacher. She has worked in education settings from elementary school through the college level.

Since 2001, Elaine has lived in the town of West Tisbury on the island of Martha's Vineyard with her husband Dan. They are the parents of three adult children.
